What is PMMV Scheme

Women receive this benefit for their first two living children, if the second child is a girl. For the first child, ₹5000 will be given in two installments and for the second child, ₹6000 will be given in one go after birth, provided the second child is a girl. However, registration during pregnancy is necessary to receive the benefit for the second child. This initiative will be helpful in improving the sex ratio at birth and preventing female foeticide.

How to Apply for PMMVY

Step 1. Visit an Anganwadi Center or Healthcare Facility:

  • Eligible women can register at the nearest Anganwadi center or an authorized healthcare provider.

Step 2. Submit Required Documents:

  • Aadhaar card (mandatory).
  • Bank account details.
  • Maternity card or pregnancy proof from a registered healthcare provider.
